Score
31.0raw metric 0.4771
The raw metric (calibrated macro F1 (macro F1 × (1 − ECE)) over 22 datasets) is rescaled so that uniform probabilities over each dataset's labels scores 0 and the gold labels scores 100, clamped to that range; each of the 22 benchmarks is rescaled on its own and the score is their mean.

After grading, a reviewer model reads the submission's files and the agent's trajectory and checks each of the task's rules. A failed check makes the score 0. Step numbers link into the trajectory.

Training happened during the task. train.py loads the declared base (knowledgator/gliclass-modern-large-v3.0, pinned revision in architecture.json) and freezes the ModernBERT encoder. It then trains the text_projector, classes_projector and logit_scale with AdamW for 11,500 steps; training.log and training_manifest.json agree on the step count. The temperature is fitted by LBFGS on a 10% holdout of the training corpus. The trajectory shows the adapter merged into the copied base safetensors on the GPU host (trajectory#99, trajectory#100). The resulting sha256 028312b6... matches the trained_weights hash in training_manifest.json. The model/model.safetensors inventory contains the encoder, projector and logit_scale tensors, consistent with this.

No evaluation data was used. prepare_data.py main() loads only train splits from 14 declared non-BTZSC sources: dbpedia_14, bbc-news, enron_spam, CR, TREC-QC, 20_newsgroups, amazon_counterfactual_en, student-question-categories, ade_corpus_v2, snips, go_emotions, and GLUE mnli/qnli/rte. data_manifest.json and data_download.log list the same sources with revisions and per-source counts (51,107 examples, with a sha256). A TASKS list that names other sets is never used by main(). No validation or test split, and no BTZSC source, was loaded for training or calibration.

The public validation split was not used for tuning. Model selection and temperature fitting used only the training-corpus holdout (train.py, training_config.json). The participant did run the public validate.py as a diagnostic (trajectory#142, trajectory#150, trajectory#165, trajectory#169). Every server change between those runs was driven by throughput: label/text clipping, token budget and batch limits. The score stayed the same (0.8887) across those changes, so no setting was chosen by validation score. The final 72/800/1024 values came after the self-check's note about request size and were not re-scored on validation (trajectory#177). No validation rows went into training or calibration.

No JEV reproduction was used. The base is the declared GLiClass checkpoint at a pinned revision (architecture.json). training_manifest.json declares no teachers and no reused artifacts, and the trajectory shows training from that base with the frozen encoder. The trajectory shows no download or use of a JEV reproduction or other forbidden artifact.

Inference is stateless and zero-shot. server.py packs each request's own text and labels into one sequence, runs the GLiClass forward pass and returns a temperature-scaled softmax. Dynamic batching only groups independent requests in a queue. The docstring says nothing is cached between requests, and the code agrees: there is no cache, retrieval, dataset identification, label memorization or external call. serve.sh sets offline mode.

The server uses the reviewed weights. serve.sh sets MODEL_DIR=$ROOT/model and TEMPERATURE_PATH=$ROOT/temperature.txt, then runs server.py. server.py loads GLiClassModel and the tokenizer from MODEL_DIR and reads the temperature file. The shipped model/model.safetensors is the merged trained checkpoint: its hash was checked after download (trajectory#100, trajectory#107) and matches training_manifest.json. Its inventory holds the trained projector and logit_scale tensors.

No harness credentials were misused. The trajectory shows only the provided tools: the spin compute/s5cmd CLI, ssh to the leased GPU with its key, the frontier selfcheck/submit CLI and the local validate.py (trajectory#101, trajectory#172, trajectory#174, trajectory#179). No harness API keys or base URLs appear in submission code or session commands, and no harness credential is used outside the harness.
LLM adversarial review is not proof of arbitrary program behavior. Host storage and task-specific deterministic checks remain required.
frontier selfcheck runs the submission on the grading infrastructure against public examples and reports each gate, so the agent can catch problems before grading. Each run gets four. This agent used 1 of 4.

startup 86.1 s of 300 s; 1/1 gates passed; The throughput gate sent resampled public documents; held-out requests are about 1.75 times as large in UTF-8 bytes, mostly longer label descriptions, so a server that reads a text with all its labels needs more than 75% to spare on that gate.

The agent's last message before its session ended.
The classifier is submitted. The official self-check passed on an H100 before I handed it in.
It scores any set of label descriptions in one encoder pass. A ModernBERT sequence holds the document and every description, and a trained projector compares the text token with each label token. A temperature fitted on a training holdout turns those scores into a probability distribution.
Training used only train splits from datasets outside the reserved evaluation sources: DBpedia, BBC news, Enron spam, customer reviews, TREC, 20 Newsgroups, SNIPS, GoEmotions, MNLI, QNLI, RTE, and a few other classification sets. The encoder stayed frozen. The projector and temperature were trained for 11,500 steps. On the training holdout, accuracy moved from 0.56 to 0.77 and expected calibration error from 0.26 to 0.013.
The public validator, which I did not use for training or selection, scored 0.889 (macro-F1 0.906, ECE 0.019) at about 185 documents per second. The official self-check started in 86 seconds and measured 400 documents per second against the 50-document requirement.
