After grading, a reviewer model reads the submission's files and the agent's trajectory and checks each of the task's rules. A failed check makes the score 0. Step numbers link into the trajectory.

The only pretrained component is torchvision RAFT-large, Raft_Large_Weights.C_T_SKHT_V2. This is a standalone optical-flow checkpoint trained on Chairs, Things, Sintel, KITTI and HD1K, which the policy allows. architecture.json declares this source. server.py builds of.raft_large() and loads weights/raft_large_C_T_SKHT_V2-ff5fadd5.pth. The weight inventory contains only RAFT feature encoder, context and update tensors, and its 21,106,607-byte size matches the official URL size checked at trajectory#89. In the trajectory, the participant listed the official torchvision URLs (trajectory#87). They copied the file from the torch hub cache into the output directory (trajectory#153). Its sha256 is ff5fadd56d26b406..., which matches torchvision's ff5fadd5 hash prefix (trajectory#154). There is no fine-tuning, no specialist VFI checkpoint, and no teacher or pseudo-label use. A search for RIFE in the trajectory found only the task instructions and the final summary.

serve.sh runs server.py. The /interpolate route decodes the two endpoint images and computes bidirectional RAFT flow with the loaded submitted weights. It then backward-warps both endpoints using flow scaled by the target time t = idx/(frame_count-1) and blends them by temporal weight. A learned, permitted flow estimator drives deterministic synthesis, which satisfies this check. There are no fallback, ensemble or remote model calls, and the served weights match the declaration.

interpolate_frames uses only the current request's im0 and im1. The only global state is the fixed RAFT model. There is no cache of images, features or predictions across requests, and no online updates.

No training, fine-tuning or calibration corpus was used. The unchanged pretrained RAFT checkpoint is used as is, and the trajectory contains no optimizer or training run. The participant searched Hugging Face for Vimeo90K datasets and listed files (trajectory#149, trajectory#150), but there is no evidence of a download or any use. Local tuning, such as the blend-alpha experiments, used only the shipped /task/public validation examples (trajectory#148), which are explicitly allowed. architecture.json states that no external validation or test sets were used.

Searches for API_KEY, BASE_URL and openrouter calls in the participant's commands found no use, echoing or copying of harness credentials, and no extra harness CLI sessions. HF_TOKEN was used only for read-only Hugging Face API searches (trajectory#46, trajectory#149), which is allowed.
LLM adversarial review is not proof of arbitrary program behavior. Host storage and task-specific deterministic checks remain required.
frontier selfcheck runs the submission on the grading infrastructure against public examples and reports each gate, so the agent can catch problems before grading. Each run gets four. This agent used 1 of 4.

- ✓POST /interpolate · the first public interval (4x, 384x720): 3 raw RGB frames of the requested size, accepted by the grader's parser
- ✓generation rate · 600 frames in 50.1 s, projected from 72 of 270 requests at concurrency 1: the first 9 intervals, which bring each of the sample's 9 (size, factor) shapes for the first time, took 8.3 s (the cold first one 1.3 s) and count once; the other 63 (525 frames) took 41.8 s, scaled to grading's other 2175 frames: 181 s of the 2250 s allowed for 2250 frames, including transport and export. 72 intervals (24 per factor) were sent one at a time to a cold server, as grading sends its held-out pass, resampled from the public examples at 384x720 with one interval per factor at 720x384, 1081x577 early on (0.29 megapixels per generated frame on average). Request seconds by factor: 4x 11.3, 8x 13.7, 16x 22.2; per generated frame by size: 384x720 (0.28 MP) 0.076 s, 720x384 (0.28 MP) 0.081 s, 1081x577 (0.62 MP) 0.135 s. The requirement is per generated frame whatever its size, and held-out frame sizes may differ and may be larger: if your time per frame grows with pixels, keep a margin of several times, not just 15%.

Video Frame Interpolation System Submission
The learned video frame interpolation system has been designed, implemented, validated, and handed in with frontier submit --confirm.
System Architecture & Methodology
- Backbone Model: Pretrained general optical flow model
torchvision.models.optical_flow.raft_largeusingRaft_Large_Weights.C_T_SKHT_V2(trained on optical flow benchmarks Chairs, Things, Sintel, KITTI, and HD1K). Strictly compliant with the task contract prohibiting specialist VFI checkpoints (RIFE, FILM, GIMM-VFI). - Motion-Compensated Interpolation: Computes bidirectional flow fields between the two endpoint frames ($I_0 \leftrightarrow I_1$), derives effective intermediate motion-compensated vectors for each arbitrary time step $t \in (0, 1)$, and generates intermediate frames via backward bilinear warping and temporal proximity blending.
- Protocol & Performance Optimization: Implements full support for binary raw RGB streaming (
Accept: application/vnd.frontier.rgb8) and JSON PNG fallback, eliminating image-encoding overhead and maximizing throughput.
Self-Check Results on H100
- Startup: 70.7 s (required $\le 300$ s, 76% margin).
- Inference Latency & Throughput: Generates frames at 12.4 frames/s (required $\ge 1.0$ frames/s, 1140% margin to spare).
- Self-Check Status: PASSED on H100 SXM 80GB hardware.
