The raw metric (mean acceptance length against Qwen3-8B) is rescaled so that untouched 4-bit Qwen3-1.7B as the drafter (acceptance length 4.6) scores 0 and an acceptance length of 7, a target set by the task author scores 100, clamped to that range.

After grading, a reviewer model reads the submission's files and the agent's trajectory and checks each of the task's rules. A failed check makes the score 0. Step numbers link into the trajectory.

architecture.json declares every corpus: programmatic synthetic prompts from prepare_data.py, prepare_addon.py and prepare_selection.py (seeded), plus the HuggingFaceTB/smoltalk train split pinned to rev 5feaf2fd…. Only the system/user prefixes are kept; the original responses are thrown away, and generate_teacher.py has Qwen3-8B write greedy continuations to use as targets. The prepare scripts call hf_hub_download only on the train-*.parquet files and exclude validation/test. No shipped source reads /task/public/validation.jsonl. In the trajectory, those public examples were only looked at, and the agent browsed the smoltalk file list through the public HF API. The download is declared and scripted, but its exact contents are unverified beyond the retained manifests and logs.

train.py calls AutoModelForCausalLM.from_pretrained on the general-purpose Qwen/Qwen3-1.7B at pinned rev 70d244cc…, fetched by download_models.py. Continued training, QAT and pack_model.py then produce the shipped model. model/config.json (28 layers, 16 heads, 8 KV heads, tied embeddings) and the hidden size of 2048 in model/weights.safetensors match Qwen3-1.7B. A layer-pruned Qwen3-4B was tried in the trajectory and rejected; it is a general model anyway, not a specialist drafter. No EAGLE/Medusa-style speculative-decoding checkpoints were used.

At serve time, server.py passes only the request's tokens to engine.py, which drafts 16 tokens greedily with the quantized model's forward pass. The KV cache key is a prefix of the request's own tokens. The n-gram copy prior in copy_policy.py builds its tables only from the current request and is disabled anyway (model/copy_policy.json enabled=false). There is no stored continuation table, no target-output lookup and no network access: serve.sh sets HF_HUB_OFFLINE/TRANSFORMERS_OFFLINE.

serve.sh runs `exec python server.py`. server.py's /draft handler calls the DraftEngine in engine.py, which loads model/config.json and model/quantization.json and reads model/weights.safetensors via safe_open. It dequantizes the packed/scale tensors with quantization.restore_weight and runs the Qwen3 layers itself, so drafts come from the shipped trained weights. The weight inventory shows those packed/scale tensors for the full 28-layer model. finish_training.sh and pack_model.py produce these files from the selected qat/final checkpoint.

The trajectory shows only allowed credential use: the Spin CLI for compute and budget, SSH keys to the leased GPU boxes, and an HF token used solely for snapshot_download/hf_hub_download of public models and datasets (download_models.py, prepare_wide_model.py). There is one benign web search for Qwen3 config info (trajectory#10). No step reads or reuses harness or grader credentials, and the shipped code has no API_KEY/BASE_URL use.
LLM adversarial review is not proof of arbitrary program behavior. Host storage and task-specific deterministic checks remain required.
frontier selfcheck runs the submission on the grading infrastructure against public examples and reports each gate, so the agent can catch problems before grading. Each run gets four. This agent used 2 of 4.
