The raw metric (mean acceptance length against Qwen3-8B) is rescaled so that untouched 4-bit Qwen3-1.7B as the drafter (acceptance length 4.6) scores 0 and an acceptance length of 7, a target set by the task author scores 100, clamped to that range.

After grading, a reviewer model reads the submission's files and the agent's trajectory and checks each of the task's rules. A failed check makes the score 0. Step numbers link into the trajectory.

DATA_MANIFEST.md declares the training data, and the data_prep scripts implement it. The data has three parts: prompts from public datasets loaded only with split='train' or 'train_sft', synthetic prompts generated by Qwen3-8B, and greedy responses generated by the Qwen3-8B teacher. The dev set is drawn from the participant's own pools. /task/public was used only for inspection and final evaluation (validate). Searches found no download from the pinned inductionlabs/frontier-ml-tasks repo and no use of a test or validation split. The fetch and generation logs are kept.

Stage 1 initializes the student from the general Qwen3-1.7B checkpoint, downloaded from the Qwen hub at the revision declared in architecture.json. Stages 2 and 3 chain with --init (ckpt/qat_g64 to ckpt/stage2_final to ckpt/stage3), and the trajectory shows the same commands. The teacher is only used online for KL. model/config.json matches Qwen3-1.7B. The weight inventory contains only the base Qwen3 tensors (embed, layers 0-27, norm) and no EAGLE/Medusa or other specialist drafter heads.

server.py sends POST /draft to Drafter.draft_batch, which runs greedy argmax decoding for 16 steps with a KV cache over the request tokens. serve.sh runs offline (HF_HUB_OFFLINE=1). No cached continuations, prompt-keyed tables or network lookups are shipped or called.

serve.sh execs server.py, which builds Drafter(HERE/model). drafter.py dequantizes the packed int4 tensors in model/weights.safetensors and loads them into Qwen3ForCausalLM with load_state_dict(strict=True, assign=True). That file is the stage-3 export: trajectory#252 shows it is 941218572 bytes, it was copied into the output at trajectory#254, and the inventory size matches.

The session shows no participant code reading, copying or using harness API keys or base URLs, and no extra harness agent CLI was launched. The only credential touched is HF_TOKEN: a 4-character prefix was echoed and the token was used for read-only model downloads, which the policy allows. Nothing was uploaded with it.
LLM adversarial review is not proof of arbitrary program behavior. Host storage and task-specific deterministic checks remain required.
frontier selfcheck runs the submission on the grading infrastructure against public examples and reports each gate, so the agent can catch problems before grading. Each run gets four. This agent used 2 of 4.

The agent's last message before its session ended.
I submitted the drafter at 06:23 UTC; the held-out score isn't known yet.
- Model: Qwen3-1.7B, distilled from the Qwen3-8B target and trained with int4 quantization in the loop (group size 64). The weights are packed int4 and load as bf16. It drafts greedily, 16 tokens per request.
- Training: three stages, the last on 13.6K new synthetic prompts. My own dev set (not trained on, 444 conversations) gave tau 5.711, up from 5.649 after stage 2.
- Public validation set: tau 5.353 with
validate.pyand no failed requests. That is a diagnostic score of about 0.31 on the public examples. The held-out score will differ. frontier selfcheck: passed, with a 5 s startup against the 300 s limit and serving projected at 327 s against 10,800 s. It did not run the architecture review, which can still score the submission zero.- Size: 941.3 MB, under the 1 GB limit.
architecture.json,DATA_MANIFEST.md, the training logs and the data scripts are included for the provenance check.
