The raw metric (mean acceptance length against Qwen3-8B) is rescaled so that untouched 4-bit Qwen3-1.7B as the drafter (acceptance length 4.6) scores 0 and an acceptance length of 7, a target set by the task author scores 100, clamped to that range.

After grading, a reviewer model reads the submission's files and the agent's trajectory and checks each of the task's rules. A failed check makes the score 0. Step numbers link into the trajectory.

Every training, selection and paraphrase source is declared in train/DATA_MANIFEST.md, and the code that produced each one is shipped. The sources are: synthetic prompts from train/prompts_gen.py; the train splits only of gsm8k, squad, cnn_dailymail and mbpp, loaded by train/public_data.py with split="train" and listed in pub_manifest.json; the 40 shipped public examples in /task/public validation.jsonl; and 8B paraphrases of training prompts from train/paraphrase.py. Targets are Qwen3-8B greedy continuations from train/gen_refs.py. The 8B model was downloaded from HF at a pinned revision (trajectory#60). Checkpoint selection used the train-split eval holdout plus the allowed public-40 examples (trajectory#287). The trajectory shows no held-out or test-split access. The HF dataset downloads are declared in code and the manifest, but no download log was kept, so their provenance is recorded as unverified. That is not a violation.

architecture.json declares Qwen/Qwen3-0.6B at revision c1899de…, a general-purpose model, not a specialist drafter. Only Qwen3-8B and Qwen3-0.6B were downloaded (trajectory#60). The trajectory has no EAGLE, Medusa or other drafter-checkpoint downloads. train/train_sft.py calls from_pretrained on the base model, and the manifest lineage (sft1→kd1→sft2→sft3) consists of full fine-tunes of Qwen3-0.6B. The shipped packed.safetensors is the quantized sft3 checkpoint (trajectory#288, trajectory#299).

The shipped server.py runs only greedy argmax decoding with the loaded transformer over the request tokens. It has no datastore, no retrieval, no network calls and no reference files. A suffix-retrieval drafter over a datastore of the participant's own training references was tried mid-session (trajectory#140) and dropped (trajectory#307). The shipped submission does not use it, and it never used held-out data.

serve.sh runs server.py with MODEL_DIR=./model. server.py loads model/packed.safetensors, dequantizes the int8 tensors with their group-wise or row-wise scales to bf16, and applies the qspec.json tie (lm_head = embed_tokens). It then calls load_state_dict on the Qwen3 config model, asserting no missing or unexpected keys, and serves /draft from that model. The trajectory shows packed3 (the sft3 checkpoint) built and verified at a 1/1024 flip rate, copied to output/model/packed.safetensors, and served by the final selfcheck from /submission/model (trajectory#288, #294, #299, #304).

The participant used only HF downloads of the declared models (trajectory#60) and their own Spin wallet storage through spin s5cmd (trajectory#176, trajectory#297). The other harness commands were the standard frontier selfcheck and submit (trajectory#303, #306). The trajectory shows no printenv, no harness-token extraction and no use of harness credentials or of the OpenRouter proxy outside allowed use.
LLM adversarial review is not proof of arbitrary program behavior. Host storage and task-specific deterministic checks remain required.
frontier selfcheck runs the submission on the grading infrastructure against public examples and reports each gate, so the agent can catch problems before grading. Each run gets four. This agent used 2 of 4.

Distilled Qwen3-8B's greedy non-thinking behavior into a fine-tuned Qwen3-0.6B drafter, served from int8-packed weights (597 MB) dequantized to bf16 at startup. Pure stdlib HTTP server, no extra dependencies.
Measured quality: public-40 tau 5.73 (projected score ≈ 0.47), up from the 4.6 floor — via 90k distillation prompts (synthetic 8-category generators + GSM8K/SQuAD/CNN-DM/MBPP train splits + 8B paraphrases) and 4 training rounds, keeping the best (sft3).
Selfcheck #2: PASSED — 611.6 MB, 30 s startup, 0.48 s/draft, 2770 s projected serving (74% margin), 0 failures.
Experiments that failed and were dropped: retrieval drafting (hurt every category), on-policy KD (regressed), group-wise quantization (unneeded at 0.1% flips).
