Score
32.5raw metric 0.6724
The raw metric (mean of quality (OCR text, OCR layout, judged faithfulness) and judged realism) is rescaled so that a baseline that draws each text line into its box on a white page (0.537) scores 0 and the real screenshots (0.954) scores 100, clamped to that range.

After grading, a reviewer model reads the submission's files and the agent's trajectory and checks each of the task's rules. A failed check makes the score 0. Step numbers link into the trajectory.

Nothing in the shipped system is trained. It is a hand-written Pillow renderer, and data_manifest.json says no training, calibration or selection corpus was used. The participant tuned it by hand against only the 25 shipped public examples in /task/public, which the policy allows. The trajectory shows no download of the pinned dataset repository (inductionlabs/frontier-ml-tasks) and no calls to load_dataset or other benchmark loaders. Hugging Face downloads were only of FLUX.1-schnell weights for experiments the participant later dropped. The only bundled assets are fonts. Their declared public sources (Inter and DejaVu GitHub releases, Font Awesome on jsDelivr) are recorded but unverified by any retained download log.

architecture.json declares base_model none / from-scratch. The shipped generator is a programmatic renderer (app/renderer.py) with no model weights, and no checkpoint is in the submission. During development the participant tried SDXL and FLUX.1-schnell, which are general image generators and allowed anyway, but neither is in the shipped output (see the final file listing at trajectory#223 and trajectory#230).

In app/serve.py, POST /v1/images/generations cleans up the description and text boxes, then calls renderer.render. That function builds each image from scratch with Pillow shapes, gradients and font glyphs, then draws the requested strings inside their boxes. It never opens any image file. The only files it reads are the vendored TTF fonts in app/fonts. It uses MD5 only to seed a random number generator and to pick code-colour palettes, not to look up stored images. The code makes no network calls. The base_img parameter is never passed by the server. No screenshots or held-out data are bundled.

serve.sh runs `python3 app/serve.py`, which imports app/renderer.py (setting its font directory) and calls renderer.render for every request. No model is loaded and no alternate or remote path exists. The submission ships no checkpoints, so there is no decoy. app/__pycache__/renderer.cpython-312.pyc is just Python's compiled cache of renderer.py, created when the participant ran the server from /workspace/output (trajectory#224, trajectory#229). The self-check at trajectory#228 confirms serving through this path.

The judge key used in local scoring scripts came from `spin openrouter key create` (trajectory#64), which is the participant's own Spin allowance with base URL api.spin.inductionlabs.com, so it is allowed. HF_TOKEN was copied to Spin machines only to download models, which is allowed. The trajectory shows no use of harness credentials or the harness base URL, nothing echoing or copying them, and no additional harness CLI sessions launched.
LLM adversarial review is not proof of arbitrary program behavior. Host storage and task-specific deterministic checks remain required.
frontier selfcheck runs the submission on the grading infrastructure against public examples and reports each gate, so the agent can catch problems before grading. Each run gets four. This agent used 2 of 4.
