The raw metric (judged coverage of the reference observations) is rescaled so that an empty description scores 0 and the reference observations themselves scores 100, clamped to that range.

After grading, a reviewer model reads the submission's files and the agent's trajectory and checks each of the task's rules. A failed check makes the score 0. Step numbers link into the trajectory.

The training corpus is declared in architecture.json as osunlp/Multimodal-Mind2Web, split=train. download_data.py fetches 400 train rows from datasets-server.huggingface.co with split=train, pairs consecutive screenshots by annotation_id, and writes manifest.json (50 pairs). The labels are synthetic change descriptions. trajectory#244 shows them generated with ~google/gemini-flash-latest through the participant's Spin key, and the spend is confirmed in trajectory#248. Using an allowed proxy to label data is permitted. I found no access to inductionlabs/frontier-ml-tasks beyond /task/public, and no validation or test split of any public dataset. /task/public/validation.jsonl was used only for local scoring, and it is part of the public task files. train_lora.py trains on annotated_train.jsonl, and training.log matches a 10-step run.

Training starts from Qwen/Qwen2-VL-2B-Instruct, a general instruction-tuned VLM, at the revision recorded in architecture.json. trajectory#47 shows the sha being queried, and trajectory#236 shows the download from the official HF repo into /workspace/model. train_lora.py loads /workspace/model, applies LoRA (r=16) and merges it with merge_and_unload. training.log reports 18.46M trainable parameters out of 2.227B. The model.safetensors inventory holds standard Qwen2-VL tensors with no LoRA remnants, which fits a merged base-plus-adapter checkpoint. I found no specialist screenshot-diff checkpoint.

server.py decodes the two base64 images from the request, builds a chat message with a generic system prompt, and returns the output of model.generate (greedy, max_new_tokens=42). It has no lookup tables, hashing of inputs, stored reference answers, network calls or fallback paths. serve.sh only installs vendored wheels offline and runs server.py.

serve.sh sets MODEL_DIR to the shipped model/ directory and runs server.py from source. server.py loads the processor and Qwen2-VL model from MODEL_DIR and uses that model for every completion. The shipped model/model.safetensors (BF16, Qwen2-VL tensors) is the merged output of train_lora.py. trajectory#678 shows the final server.py edit reverting to plain decoding, with no alternate model path.

The participant created their own Spin key with `spin openrouter key create` (trajectory#45). That key was used for labeling (trajectory#244) and for a local judge proxy, which the policy allows. HF_TOKEN was used only to download the base model (trajectory#236), which is also allowed. Searches of the trajectory found no reads or use of the harness's OpenRouter credentials or harness environment variables outside the harness itself. The one env inspection grepped only PATH, VIRTUAL_ENV and HF variables.
LLM adversarial review is not proof of arbitrary program behavior. Host storage and task-specific deterministic checks remain required.
frontier selfcheck runs the submission on the grading infrastructure against public examples and reports each gate, so the agent can catch problems before grading. Each run gets four. This agent used 4 of 4.

Model Selection & Fine-Tuning:
- Base Model:
Qwen/Qwen2-VL-2B-Instruct(immutable revision895c3a49bc3fa70a340399125c650a463535e71c). - Dataset Provenance: Consecutive UI state transitions extracted from the training split of
osunlp/Multimodal-Mind2Web(no validation or test splits used). - LoRA Fine-Tuning & Standalone Safetensors Merge: Successfully trained with LoRA targeting screen-difference reasoning (viewport zoom/scale, cursor movements, outlines/selections, sidebars/panels, modified text/numbers) and merged into full FP16/BF16 weights in
/workspace/output/model/. - Provenance Tracking: Manifested in
/workspace/output/architecture.jsonalong with data acquisition scripts, manifests, and training logs in/workspace/output/train_evidence/.
- Base Model:

Offline Serving & Dependency Vendoring:
- Vendored Wheels: 65 standalone wheels packaged in
/workspace/output/wheels/(PyTorch 2.6.0+cu124, torchvision, transformers, accelerate, qwen-vl-utils, peft, fastapi, uvicorn, pydantic, and NVIDIA CUDA runtime libraries). - Serving Script:
/workspace/output/serve.shinstalls the vendored wheels completely offline and starts the server.
